Ingredients 1 chicken
1 onion
2 carrots 1 turnip
1 swede
2 celery sticks
1 parsnip
2 potatoes
60g (2oz) butler
1/2 cup small macaroni

Method
Rinse the chicken under the tap and set aside. Wash, peel ano roughly chop the vegetables Melt the butter in a large saucepan and add the vegetables, cooking them (or a few minutes and stirring occasionally with a wooden spoon or spatula to stop them sticking.
Place the chicken in the pan with the vegetables and cover with water Bring to the boil and simmer for 1 hour. Skim and strain the stock through a colander. Remove meat from chicken and chop roughly.
Strain vegetables over a bowl and put them into a blender to make e puree. Pour the stock back into the saucepan and bring back to the boit, Add macaroni. When macaroni is cooked al dente, stir through the vegetable puree and season to taste with salt and pepper Just before serving, add chicken pieces. Sewe piping hoi with crusty Italian bread Serves 6
